(EPAT) Extracorporeal Pulse Activation Treatment

EPAT laser pulse therapy is a highly effective technology that is used to accelerate the bodies natural healing process. It is a non-invasive treatment that uses pressure waves to help treat and heal internal maladies, with minimal discomfort and virtually no downtime following the procedures. The treatment has been cleared by the FDA and has not been found to have side effects beyond the potential for minor discomfort. EPAT is excellent for injuries that are slow to heal or won’t heal.

What conditions does EPAT treat?

  • Golfers elbow (medial epicondylitis)
due to calcification of shoulder tendons )

How does EPAT work?

EPAT relies on the use of shock waves, which are essentially acoustic waves at a high speed and pressure. By focusing them on areas that need attention, and adjusting the strength and speed at which these waves are delivered, EPAT can be used by a specialist to achieve a desired result. It may be used to promote and accelerate tissue regeneration in injuries or other cases of damage. Treatment is customized to each unique case.

How is EPAT performed?

The treatment is simple and straightforward. Coupling gel is applied to the area for treatment to help the shock waves reach maximum efficiency. Sound waves carry well in watery substances, so the gel enhances the effectiveness of the treatment and allows the waves to travel more smoothly to their destination. The waves are then released through an applicator while moving it gently over the area of interest. Once the session concludes, the gel is cleaned off and the patient is immediately mobile.

How long does this treatment take?

Treatment takes 5-7 min for a localized injury.
